Next Generation 9-1-1 in a matter of months, rather than years

Posted on Jul 16, 2020

See how one County skipped costly and cumbersome patches and upgrades to transition from one of the last few remaining Basic 9-1-1 systems to Cloud-based Next Generation 9-1-1 in less than a year. >> Read more on Gov CIO Outlook

What is the beauty of true i3 compliant native Cloud Next Generation 9-1-1? You go to bed at night, not worrying about catastrophic outages. Your call-takers get better tools to do their jobs. And best of all, your community receives the best service possible. Here are just a few of the things that make that possible:

Amazon Web Service Security – Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides cloud infrastructure to some of the largest companies in the world such as Netflix and Liberty Mutual, the Nasdaq stock exchange, and over 3,000 government agencies such as the Dept of Justice, Dept of Homeland security, and the State of Kansas.

A few examples of AWS controls include secure design, including redundancy, site selection, and capacity planning. Physical and virtual access to data centers is limited, events are monitored and logged, and there is continuous surveillance.

We are proud to partner with AWS for the highest standard in Cloud security and integrity. Learn more about AWS Cloud Security and the AWS GovCloud

Highly Available ESInet– Unlike current legacy systems in place, our NG Trunks help to eliminate network downtime and provide 99.999% availability to meet public safety grade network requirements. We achieve the highest level of reliability and performance through the aggregation and bonding of diverse supplied networks and data centers so that performance is not dependent on any one center. As in any telecommunications solution, the last mile is susceptible to cuts and may not have a redundant and/or diverse path into the Agency. However, we solve this problem with Bonded NG Trunks.

The NGA 911 High Availability Bonded NG Trunks will ensure that connectivity to each PSAP served by the ESInet is always actively maintained. First, our Bonded NG Trunks are capable of aggregating up to four separate broadband (WAN, MPLS, MW, LTE, etc.) connections simultaneously and far exceed the performance of up to four separate services that are not aggregated. Bonded NG Trunks seamlessly aggregate diverse IP based interconnections (WANs) into a single integrated connection.

Our centralized, automated architecture is inherently more robust and reliable than one that relies on traditional, fragmented, site-by-site manual configuration. In addition to consistent end-to-end security policy enforcement, PSAPs realize significant operational efficiencies through the centralized orchestration of all essential wide area network functions from a single pane of glass.

What does this mean to you?

  1. Resilient multipath connectivity
  2. Packet duplication for superior resiliency and voice quality
  3. Packet loss mitigation increases fidelity
  4. Bandwidth augmentation
  5. It just works.

NGA 911 was built for this– We built our solution from the ground up to bring you into the future of 9-1-1, as your center is ready. We are proud to provide a solution that will exceed your expectations. Our solution is not complicated to learn and we ensure that your project stays on budget and on schedule. We don’t do hidden costs — because who has time to go back and get budget approvals? We help you focus on what you do best— save lives and protect property.

The 9-1-1 core infrastructure in the United States is antiquated and inadequate. The most recent nationwide enhancement, Enhanced 9-1-1, is already many decades old. Worse yet, Enhanced 9-1-1 is built upon the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) of the 1960s and 1970s. The condition and limited capabilities of these legacy systems are a significant risk to life, limb, and property.

In response to this challenge, 9-1-1 entities seek out solutions only to find that the incumbent 9-1-1 service providers recommend the construction of new facilities, data centers, and physical servers connected by expensive data links on top of the existing Enhanced 9-1-1 system. These approaches lead to hybrid solutions that do not bring all the promised enhancements of Next Generation 9-1-1 and actually cost twice as much to build and operate.

By leveraging the infrastructure of AWS and our own networking expertise we are the first 9-1-1 Core provider to deliver a true end-to-end Next Generation 9-1-1 system that does not require new data centers, facilities, and hardware. The flexibility, robustness, scalability, and security of our NG9-1-1 solution in the Cloud are demonstrated by the fact that we can cost-effectively serve the largest customers in the country such as California just as well as our customers with much smaller populations.

We play well with others – We are vendor and carrier agnostic. Our solution has been tested and proven to work with multiple vendors and multiple carriers.

Our solution provides you with the must have requirement of interoperability. We can tie your ESInet to a neighboring ESInet for seamless call routing in the event that you need to rely on a sister city to handle an emergency or unexpected call volume. This can be accomplished across county or state boundaries.

The best part? Bring your system online in a matter of months rather than years. Why wait for years for the system your community needs, when we can bring you a secure, robust, and highly available Next Generation 9-1-1 system now?
