Over the last month, we have hosted dozens of face to face chats online to listen and learn how we can better serve your community. It’s been great getting to know you and hearing about how things are going in your center. With everything that is going on around us we have all been reminded how much we are in this together.
Many of you requested that we continue to share how our customers are responding to our solution as we help them overcome the challenges in transitioning to NG9-1-1. Proving that no matter where our communities are in the transition to better 9-1-1 we can all learn from one another to make our communities safer for generations to come.
One thing that is truly exciting about our solution is that by leveraging the infrastructure of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and our own fiber networking expertise we are the first 9-1-1 Core provider to deliver a true end-to-end NG9-1-1 system that does not require new data centers, facilities, and hardware. NGA 911 offers an NG9-1-1 solution in the cloud that meets and exceeds the recommendations to the FCC’s Task Force on Optimal Public Safety Answering Point Architecture (TFOPA).
The flexibility, robustness, scalability and security of the NGA 911 NG9-1-1 solution in the AWS Cloud is demonstrated by the fact that NGA 911 can cost-effectively serve the largest customers in the country as well as some of the smallest.
Our solution is a game changer for any size county with the pioneering vision to deploy NG9-1-1. The scalability of our solution and the fact that we are not constrained by licensing agreements or physical development is also advantageous in partnering with large customers such as the State of California in their transition to Next Generation 9-1-1, where we will be serving nearly 200 PSAPs.
No matter the size of your center or where you are in the transition to NG9-1-1, no doubt you have questions. Here are just a few examples of questions to consider when progressing to full i3 end-state maturity:
- Call volume – what is the maximum call volume the solution will support? Is the proposed solution scalable? What is the role licensing agreements with subcontractors have in scalability if applicable?
- Monitoring – what is the timeline for Dashboard development that includes at a minimum Real Time Network Outage Monitoring and Reporting? How will the proposed solution display and report the health of the Regional network from ingress to egress.
- Location – how will the proposed solution support Location Based Routing using location data provided by either an Originating Service Provider, a device operating system, or a location clearing house?
- Routing – can the vendor describe the process using a non-proprietary NENA i3 compliant solution to route any 9-1-1 traffic to the correct PSAP? Can they clearly and logically explain their approach to route 9-1-1 traffic in all scenarios?
