NGA Selected to Modernize Emergency Communications Across Four West Virginia Counties

Posted in All, Press Release on Aug 11, 2025

Cloud-based NG9-1-1 platform will replace aging infrastructure, enabling faster, more accurate emergency response across the region.

MONROVIA, CA — (Aug. 11, 20025) — NGA today announced four counties across West Virginia — including Mason, Pendleton, Raleigh, and Grant — have selected the company to bring advanced, cloud-based Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) technology to modernize local emergency response systems and strengthen public safety operations, enabling faster, more accurate response times.

The NG9-1-1 system will replace decades-old legacy infrastructure and will simultaneously support voice, text, and video communications along with integrated Artificial Intelligence, multi-language translation and transcription. Location-based routing helps direct calls to the appropriate Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) more quickly and with greater precision, providing 9-1-1 dispatchers with critical information and improving their situational awareness, which greatly benefits the communities they serve. The new platform is designed with redundancies and automatic failover, reducing the risk of service disruptions.

“NGA brings proven technology, a strong implementation track record and a deep understanding of what it takes to serve public safety agencies like ours,” said Rick Gillespie, emergency service coordinator for Pendleton County. “This partnership will help ensure that residents and first responders get the support they need when they need it most.”

“My experience with NGA has been outstanding from the sales team to project management, implementation and support,” said Matthew J. Shell, director of Mason County 9-1-1/OES. “Every step of the way, they’ve demonstrated professionalism and made the transition to Next Generation 9-1-1 smooth and seamless. I look forward to our continued partnership and am excited for what the future holds as we advance our NG9-1-1 initiatives.”

“We are excited to move forward with this Next Generation 9-1-1 implementation to provide enhanced service to our citizens,” said Peggy Bobo Alt, 9-1-1 director for Grant County Emergency Services. “NGA has been a great partner throughout this process, particularly in supporting us with key components such as preparing our GIS data for the new platform. We are grateful to the Grant County Commission and the Grant County 9-1-1 Board for their continued support in making this advancement possible.”

The rollout will also include NGA’s newly enhanced NEXiSConnect platform, bringing a more intuitive user experience, streamlined management tools and real-time visibility into service-level performance. This upgrade ensures agency stakeholders have the tools they need to make timely, informed decisions and improve outcomes for the communities they serve.

“This continued growth reflects what we’re hearing from the field — agencies want technology partners who understand the realities of emergency response and can deliver dependable, modern solutions,” said Don Ferguson, CEO of NGA. “We’re proud to support West Virginia’s commitment to innovation with a platform designed for speed, resilience and long-term impact.”

This award follows a series of recent contract wins in early 2025 as counties across states such as Ohio, Florida and more. The momentum signals accelerating adoption of NGA’s Next Generation 9-1-1 platform and continued trust from public safety agencies across the U.S. For more information about NGA and its next-generation emergency response solutions, visit www.nga911.com.
